Keyword Relevance and Density - A Quick Guide Key word density For instance if you intend writing an article about, say, website hosting then the key words "website" and "hosing should feature frequently on that page and also in the page name and title and also the meta description etc. You might think that is fairly obvious however it is often overlooked and I have seen entire pages devoted to a subject and the key word or phrase is only mentioned the one time. Let me explain , If someone is writing an article on website hosting and are not aware of SEO keyword rules they might write the entire article using the phrase "hosting" instead of "web hosting" or "website hosting" So just to clarify; It's basic SEO but you would be amazed at how many people are not aware of basic search engine optimisation rules. Keyword stuffing Keyword stuffing is where the website owner stuffs keywords into every paragraph and in some extreme cases every sentence. The same mistake can be made with the meta tags, constant repetition of the same words over and over again with the intention of attracting search engine traffic is foolish. The search algorithms have keyword density rules, so just use common sense, if a word is repeated to frequently then you will be penalised and if it's not mentioned enough then that page will not feature in search results. The answer is simple, mention the key words for that page throughout your article but do not stuff the page with repetitions of keywords otherwise you may be penalised.
